No, unfortunately we cannot accommodate RV’s or trailers at Moon Valley
No, currently we do not have an indoor restroom facility with showers. Each glamping tent includes special body wipes to freshen up each night. There is a porta-potty outhouse located a short walk from the sites. We keep it well stocked and very clean.
Sure as long as you coordinate with us beforehand.
You can actually check-in anytime you'd like after 3. We always suggest arriving before it gets dark so you can get a lay of the land and setup your camp more easily.
Yes at sites Campspot 1, Heavens Landing, Lenape, and Hilltop Hideaway. Please be sure to include the pet fee while booking and fill out the online waiver before arriving.
Each site is pretty different. Check out their amenities and features on the campsite page. You can definitely count on a fire pit with grill grate, picnic table, and garbage container at each campsite.
We have a communal water access area where you can rinse off, and fill buckets/ containers for washing etc. This water is from a well and has not been tested for drinking. You must bring your own drinking water while camping.
You should bring any essentials you would normally need while camping. This includes fire starting materials like a lighter/ matches, cooking/ eating utensils, bug spray, drinking water, flashlights/lanterns, hiking boots, rain gear, etc. There is a gas station and grocery store less than 5 minutes from the camp if you need anything in a pinch.
You can purchase firewood with a self serve option while staying at the camp. You can also include a variety of extras when booking online. We do not have a camp store on the property.
Probably yes. You get great service with Verizon here.
Black bears do occasionally visit Moon Valley Campground. Although violent interactions with black bears are rare it is very important to follow standard bear safety protocol. Food must be kept in your vehicles and garbage must be kept latched inside the animal proof containers at each campsite.
Camping is all about immersing yourself in nature, seeing any animal in their natural habitat should be a positive experience. Moon Valley is located in a great area to observe many different species of wildlife. We commonly see animals such as wild turkey, whitetail deer, red tailed hawks, and squirrels. You may also encounter a wide variety of bugs, frogs, and snakes (including venomous species like the timber rattlesnake and copperheads). In this area of New Jersey there is always the possibility of hearing some coyotes at night or seeing a black bear making its way through the forest.
We recommend arriving here with a car, there are a few uphill gravel roads difficult for bikes. You should also be storing your food in your vehicle. Quads definitely not.. sorry.
There are no bodies of water at Moon Valley. However there are some swimming options nearby like Vernon Valley lake, Wawayanda State Park, and Mountain Creek Waterpark.
